• Out of 21 SLPEs in Himachal Pradesh, 2 are reported to be non-working and 12 are reported to have incurred losses as on 31.3.2000.
• In 1999, CAG had a study conducted on the performance of the SLPEs and submitted a report to the Government.  On the basis of the Report the following steps have been taken:
• Disinvestment in Nahan Foundry, HPMC, Sikand& Co. has taken place.  Assets of Himachal Wool Processors, Himachal Worsted Mills (HWMC) (both loss making Companies) have been sold.
• In Himachal Wireless Ltd., Himachal Electronics System Corporation, H. P. Electronics Exchange Ltd. (Companies under H.P. State Electronics Development corporation), the process of winding up has begun.
• It has been decided that loss making properties of H.P. Tourism Development Corporation shall be disinvested after the evaluation of current market price.  The proposed units of disinvestment are as follows :

 

1.         Café Pancham              Trilokpur

2.         Café Baijnath                Baijnath

3.         Geetanjali                     Dhundra

4.         Sradhanjali                   Panchkulla

5.         Café Jaldhara               Dharmshala

 

·        Himachal wool Processors and Himachal Worsted Mills (HWMC) have been wound up (with the permission of High court) were continuously incurring losses and the formalities of liquidation are being completed.
